The concept of this design is that people shouldn’t be afraid to be different! It’s cool to be different and it’s certainly cool to be GREEN!

To be a GREEN chic does not mean that you have to give up all sort of personal comfort, here are some doable tips to be green chic in daily life:

Unplug appliances when you’re not using them. Make it a habit to turn off your computer—and the power strip it’s plugged into—when you leave for the day. Otherwise, you’re still burning energy even if you’re not using them! During the day, setting your computer to go to sleep automatically during short breaks can cut energy use by 70 percent. Remember, screen savers don’t save energy.

Go paperless when possible. Make it a habit to think before you print: could this be read or stored online instead? If you have to print, save paper by printing on both sides or use the back side of old documents for faxes, scrap paper, or drafts. Do not receive the brochures or flyers the salesperson hand you in the mall or public spaces if you are not really interested with the product/services offered.

Take shorter showers to reduce water use.

Say No Plastic Bag. Bring your own bag whenever you can (or remember - in my case). If you only buy 1 or 2 items that you can easily put in your bag, there is no point in taking the plastic bag. Just politely return them to the cashier. If large plastic bag (from groceries shopping) can be easily reuse as litter bag, most of small plastic bag just ended up as trash.

Bring a reusable water bottle with you when traveling or at work instead of buying bottled water that generates large amounts of container waste.

Is new goose down pillow suppose to smell like…ehm… animal? because it is still new perhaps? Anyway the smell kinda reminds me of the poor goose whose feathers being plucked to be my pillow stuffing. It must be the most comfy pillow i ever use, but i lay there wondering if the goose suffered when they plucked its feathers? or worse, were they being killed just for the feathers??? I honestly did not think about that when i bought it.

So for my peace of mind, i decided to google it, trying to find some justification of using feather product, and this is what i found:

“Goose will not be slaughtered just for their down, as the meat and other products would never be wasted in this manner. However, some geese suffer live-plucking several times a year. Animal welfare groups consider the collection of down to be a painful procedure and cruel, particularly since birds must undergo down collection repeatedly.”

*Horror*

I hope the goose that contribute its feathers to be the stuffing of my pillow is already dead before they plucked it’s feathers. Jesus, I’ll stick with synthetic next time.

Bulan lalu sempat ikutan propertykita.com blogging competition dengan tema yang cukup relevan dengan hidupku saat ini, yaitu rumahku, impianku. Ternyata postinganku yang berjudul my perfect green house itu menang sebagai juara pendukung, which amazed me, because i always consider myself unlucky in any kind of competition.

But i did win, jadi moga-moga my perfect green house kesambet good karma dan akhirnya bisa kesampaian one day =)

Makin banyak blogger yang mengadopsi gaya blogging yang pake comic strip kayak gini yang basically menceritakan berbagai potongan cerita pendek lewat comic strip. I simply love it! it’s so original, fresh and funny! not to mention creative too!

How often do you go into ladies toilet (in Indonesia) and found one of this “Do Not Squat on Toilet Seat” sign? Very often right? almost all public toilet has similar sign. Well this sign must have been one the most ignored sign ever.

Every now and then i still run into dirty footprint all over the toilet seat! And i’m not talking about public toilet in some warung or small restaurant, even toilet in the big shopping center, and the public toilet in my office building has the same problem.

It really annoys the heck out of me, i mean does these people do not have any tolerance whatsoever to the fellow public-toilet user? it is disgusting!

Sometimes i kinda wish i can pee standing. That is certainly more convenient.

Cloudy with a chance of meatballs is awesome! inventing a device to turn water into food rain of cheese burger and ice cream and pancake and meatballs is so frikkin’ imaginative and genius!

After watching the movie, i really want to eat meatballs pasta! *ngiler* And because i can not make meatballs pasta rain, i figured the next logical thing is to cook it myself. So…ta dahhh…

In case you are wondering, this is macaroni with meatballs. I know it’s not much of a looker but it is actually edible!

Oh okehhh, maybe i should just go to pasta de waraku
