Recycling 2010 newyear’s resolution 1

Jan10

Hah! with what feels like a blink, another year has passed. Looking back in 2010, i have some resolutions that i think i got it right, while some other resolutions…err not so much^^’. One that i particularly regret the most is the iphone. How the hell i haven’t get myself an iphone? It’s suppose to be the easiest one of all my resolutions. The sure thing. You know you have to have at least 1 thing in your resolution list that you are sure is going to work out no matter what so you won’t feel like crap when the new year come and none of your other resolutions is working out for you right? Well, getting an iphone was my sure thing.

Guess that didn’t work out.

And there’s the fantasy novel i want to write but never get around to it. But well, for me this is the hardest one, and deep down i didn’t really expect myself to get around to it the first time. Maybe that was the problem.

So anyway, i decided i’m not having a new resolution in the year of 2011. instead I’m going to recycle my 2010 resolution, trying to achieve last year undone resolution, and as for the thing i did accomplished, i will try to do it better, in bigger ways.

How green is it really to recycle a resolution? ^^’

Farewell, Gus Dur 3

Jan4

30 Desember 2009, Indonesia kehilangan Gus Dur, Presiden RI ke-4. Terus terang, saya tidak pernah melihat sosok Gus Dur sebagai politisi karena sebagai pemimpin, ia selalu tampak tanpa embel-embel, tanpa agenda, tanpa muslihat tersembunyi, bicara, mengkritik & bertindak apa adanya, sesuai yang ia yakini benar. So politically wrong?

I can totally imagine this conversation between them. Gus Dur: “I’ll say what i want, gitu aja kok repot”. PR guy: “omaigat” *tarik-tarik rambut*

Ya, Gus Dur mungkin memang bukan sosok politisi ideal, tapi ia jelas adalah sosok manusia idealis yang memperjuangan apa yang ia percayai. So, farewell Gus Dur, i believe you are going to the place reserved for the good souls.

on suicide 1

Dec2

Couple of days ago, there are 2 suicide incidents on 2 large malls here in Jakarta. Both victims climbed the fences on the fifth floor and jumped down to the center of those 2 different malls. On the first incident, the victim actually jumped in front of her family who accompanied her to the mall. Deep condolences to the  family.

That being said, I really can’t imagine what the victims are going through that make them decide to commit suicide right in that spot? I’m not and have no right to judge suicide, because there are just some people who go through things that maybe beyond what i can comprehend. I get that. But, what can be so devastating that make them can’t wait until he/she get to a more private place to do it? after all suicide is a really private business. Unless if thy are trying to make some sort of statement that is.

Surely, there are lots of other boring way to exit this miserable world such as OD on pills, drinks cleaning products, slit your wrist, blow your head up with a gun, etc but jumping off fifth floor is really a dumb way to go. I mean come on! you could ended up paralyze for life instead of dead, which is worst.

just sayin’ ok!

So what would be “the way” for me? I guess it will involve sky diving from a cliff or plane (or something). So on the long free fall way down i still get to think if there is really no other way for me. Who knows if the adrenalin kick in and I suddenly realize that i still have so much to live for and decide pull the parachute instead (which will be great because i get some kind of second chance), or stick to the suicide plan (which will be great too, because mission will definitely be accomplished in a awesome way)

Again, just sayin’
